TAKE NOTE OF OUR NEW SCHEDULE: Beginning this summer of 2008, we will modify our schedule of shows due to a new scheduling arrangement with the Playhouse that will see our season run in June and July ONLY:
- Our first and second shows will run for five performances over four days only, Thursday Matinee & Evening, Friday Evening, Saturday Evening and Sunday Matinee.
- Our third, fourth and fifth shows will run two weeks, five performances per week, Thursday Matinee & Evening, Friday Evening, Saturday Evening and Sunday Matinee.
Our official press opening will be the first Thursday Evening of each production and will feature a post-show reception held across the street at the Chautauqua Hall of Philosophy to which the audience, cast, staff and crew are all invited.
Because of this change in schedule, we cannot guarantee all renewing subsribers their same seats, although we will do our best to accommodate each of our valued patrons. To be fair, we will assign seating for this upcoming season in the order subscription renewals have been received. New subscribers will then be seated next. As of March 1st, all tickets buyers will begin to be seated in the best available seating.
We thank all of you who took a "leap of faith" and have already made your subscription reservations. For those who haven't sent in your order form, please do so today - there are still great seats to go around! We'll look forward to seeing you this summer!

- Priority Seating
Guaranteed seats to every play in your series.
Best seating in selected price range.
- Repeat Renewal Privileges
First option to renew the same seats, when available.
Priority consideration for seating changes.
- Unlimited Exchanges
Free ticket exchange to another performance of the same production.
Requires 24-hour PRIOR notification and upgrade fees may apply if exchanging into a more expensive day or time. Original tickets must be returned before new tickets are issued. (We cannot re-sell those tickets until they are returned to us.)
- Standby Privileges
Under no circumstances can your tickets be exchanged after the fact as we will have already reconciled the books for that performance. However, we can issue complimentary tickets as a subscriber accommodation on a standby basis. Bring your unused, past-dated tickets to the box office 15 minutes before curtain of the same production and we will give you the best available seats at that time. We will not make a prior reservation under these circumstances.
- Lost Ticket Insurance
Misplaced tickets will be reprinted free of charge.
- Subscriber "Intro to Gretna" Program
We need YOU, our loyal subscribers, to introduce new friends to the Gretna Theatre experience! For each subscription order, Gretna Theatre will send two passes Good for ONE Ticket each to any Friday Evening Show during the season along with your regular subscription tickets. Help us to show off and help us make new friends for the theatre!! (Must be redeemed for Friday Evening tickets only, no cash value. Unused passes become void at the end of the season and may not be carried over year to year.)

Your subscription purchase allows Gretna Theatre to continue the tradition of great theatre under the trees. It also affects our grants and sponsorships - the more Subscribers supporting Gretna Theatre, the more likely State, Corporate, Foundation and Individual contributors will rally to our side!

Benefits of a Gretna Theatre FlexPass:
- Discounted Passes - Use them when you wish without committing to a subscription series! Call ahead for seats or just show up!
Each Flex Pass must be redeemed for a ticket at the Box Office prior to the show. Best Seating based upon availability, of course. (Must be redeemed for tickets only - no cash, refunds or exchanges. Unused FlexPasses become void at the end of the season, may not be carried over from year to year.)
- Purchase a strip of 5 Flex Passes for only $150.
That's a savings of $10 over the five single-ticket evening price!
- FlexPasses are usable in any combination! For example,
all tickets to one show or one ticket to each show!
- FlexPasses may be used only for the Mainstage Summer Season productions. FlexPasses are sold in groups of five passes per strip. Unused FlexPasses are void at the end of the season and may not be carried over year to year. No refunds.
